The chapter I enjoyed most this year is chapter 14. Chapter 14 is about Medieval Europe. I enjoyed this the most because it deals with Europe where I am from and Medieval Times which is my favorite time period.
I learned many things in this chapter about Medieval Europe. In lesson 1 I learned about the geography of Europe. In lesson 2 I learned about the rulers and invaders of Europe in this time period. In lesson 3 I learned about the life in the Middle Ages. In lesson 4 I learned about the plague, crusades, and trade.
I have learned many skills in social studies this year. One great skill that I learned was about maps. I learned how to use maps more because in most chapters we would get a blank map one the part of the world we are studying and locate the places on the map. Then we would make a scale of miles which would show the distance the map covers. I think this skill will help us in the future.
Archeologist use social studies by digging up old history to find out the history that hasn’t been discovered yet. Geographers need to know the history of the geography they are studying.
